Why the Sources Differ
Illinois makes specified arrest information public, but the record is split among custodians. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office creates county jail booking records and directs current-population checks to its app. City police may hold incident reports. The Illinois Department of Corrections maintains profiles for people in state custody, while the Circuit Clerk holds the later court file. Records requests fill gaps when an online view is absent. We organize those official routes and explain their limits without republishing booking photos.
What We Provide
The content focuses on practical, source-based record navigation:
- Official-path help for recent arrests, county custody, warrants, booking photos, and record correction.
- Separate city pages explaining which local police agency may hold the incident report.
- Instructions for the sheriff app, VINE, court records, and Illinois DOC custody searches.
- Records-request guidance for a booking report or photograph when and if available.
Limits of Our Role
We are privately operated and have no connection to an Illinois government agency, sheriff's office, jail, police department, or corrections department.
- We cannot release, hold, or transfer a person in custody.
- We cannot post bond, arrange visits, or send funds.
- We cannot provide legal advice.
- We cannot guarantee that every office detail or fee remains current.
Only the responsible sheriff, jail, police agency, or corrections department can confirm custody, charges, or release status.
Search Partners
Some search boxes are supplied by independent providers that set their own prices and control their results. If a visitor chooses a paid signup after using one of those tools, this site may receive a referral fee that supports free access to our pages. We do not set partner prices or determine what partner searches return.
